Along Redhouse-Uitenhage Road Massed flowering of Cotyledon orbiculata on veld likely to be destroyed by factory development. In the 1993 flowering year most of the veld between Redhouse and Perseverence was covered in such massed Cotyledon - a wonderful sight. The 1994 season was good but not up to the 1993 year.

Along verge of Starndfontein Road, Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth A fine patch of Drosanthemum vygie in full flower below a flowering Acacia longifolia tree backed by many other Acacias, with left at the edge of the picture a flowering Zygophyllum uitenhagensis. After good spring rains but growing in pure dune sand. All likely to be destroyed by future urban development.

Along verge of Strandfontein Road, Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth An exceptionally fine Chrysanthemoides monilifera (bitou) plant with, in front, a full-flowering Drosanthemum vygie, both growing in pure seasand. Backed by Australian wattles. After good spring rains, all likely to be destroyed by future development.
