Most of the community settled here had voluntarily left Glen Grey and Herschel in 1976, to avoid incorporation into the Transkei homeland, only to be incorporated, at a later date, into Ciskei instead. Houses all owner-built, range from brick structures to traditional wattle and daub, mostly plastered

Widowed Mrs Mkhaliphi has lived in the area for 23 years. She claims she has Section 10 rights to live in an urban area,Ben Maclennan (donor)
