Cluster of Gasteria acinacifolia in dense, ankle-deep coastal scrub (mostly wind-clipped milkwood Sideroxylon inerme). Other clusters, though smaller, grew in the area.

About 31 plants of Gasteria acinacifolia on eastern slope of hill on top of which another 115 and others are growing in short densely-packed dune shrub beside rocky coast.
Patch of Cape Weed Arctotheca calendula on roadside, one of many patches on this part of it. Recently felled wattles, part of campaign to give unemployed work, a futility in that the plants will coppice worse than ever.
