Caption "Left - common or Outeniqua Yellowood, P. falcatus; right - True or Upright Y'wood. P. Falcatus about 50 m east of Fairlawn hostel, St Andrews Prep School, West Hill, Grahamstown. Taken 28 April 1977. The central tree is a very much older pear. Both yellowwood were planted in 1946/7 by Mr E. S. Rivett-Carnac, MC. , when housemaster at Fairlawn. Thus they were 32 years old in the photo. Bole widths at 1 m from the ground: falcatus = 308 mm; pear: 308 mm latifolius 230 mm"
