- Caption: "Kaffir plum trees with tops bent over by the prevailing wind from the sea just west of Igoda R. on road to Kidds Beach from East London. The land around them had recently been cleared of surrounding sand above which the canopies of the Kaffir-plum protruded (see below). The trunks must have grown straight to the light and then been bent when growing above the surrounding bush canopy. Aug. 1958."
