- Caption: "Pinus insignia, the lone tree on top of Beaford Mountain, behind the town. This tree is visible from Kroomie near Fort Beaufort. Planted by Mr. (illegible) in (not date entered). He planted several species of pine here but only this tree survived. A few saplings are now coming up below it. June 1958."
