Abstract
This digitised archival document records the Rhodes University graduation ceremony held on Thursday, 12 April 2007, at 18:00 at the 1820 Settlers National Monument in Grahamstown. The seventeen-page programme lists graduates across the Faculties of Pharmacy and Science, including undergraduate, honours, master’s and doctoral qualifications, academic distinctions and awards. It records honorary Doctor of Laws degrees awarded to Zackie Achmat and David Randle Woods, alongside university awards recognising research and teaching excellence. Postgraduate research covers pharmaceutical science, complementary medicines, medicinal plants, biodiversity conservation, marine ecology, fisheries, geology, biotechnology, environmental management, computer science and information systems. Several studies address regional priorities, including Eastern Cape conservation, sustainable water treatment, environmental pollution, and marine and freshwater ecosystems. As a primary institutional source, the programme supports biographical research, verification of qualifications and distinctions, tracing postgraduate scholarship, and documenting Rhodes University’s academic and scientific research history in 2007.
