This digitised archival document records the Rhodes University Graduation Ceremony held on Friday, 1 April 2005, at the 1820 Settlers National Monument in Grahamstown. The fourteen-page digitised file comprises the graduation programme, lists of graduates across the faculties, academic distinctions, and an extensive record of scholarships, bursaries and prizes awarded during the ceremony. It identifies the university’s senior leadership and deans at the time, including Chancellor G.J. Gerwel and Vice-Chancellor D.R. Woods, and records the presentation of diplomas and bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The Faculty of Humanities listings include graduates in Arts, Social Science and Music, with distinctions recorded across disciplines such as Psychology, Philosophy, Politics, History, English Language and Linguistics, Drama, Journalism and Media Studies, and Classical Civilisation.
