This digitised archival document records Rhodes University's graduation ceremony held at the Grahamstown City Hall on 28 March 1952, celebrating the academic achievements of students who completed their qualifications during the 1951 academic year. The eight-page programme identifies the university's Chancellor, Dr B. F. J. Schonland, Vice-Chancellor Dr T. Alty and Registrar A. E. Shields, and outlines the formal proceedings, including the presentation of graduands, the awarding of diplomas and the conferment of an honorary Master of Arts degree on Miss J. E. Wood. The document lists graduates across the Faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law and Social Science, including undergraduate, honours, master's and doctoral qualifications.
