The name of this singer Makanana means 'Jump for joy'. These Shangan or Tsonga people of the Transvaal are related to the Shangaans of Mozambique many of them having come up onto the highlands during the war of pacification between Gungunyana and the Portuguese at the turn of the century. "When we were still in love, in Johannesburg, it was fine." Love song
