Many of the best pieces of music in South Rhodesia are dedicated to the traditional belief in Mashawi souls. Muzazaranda is one of several songs which accompany this interesting ritual. Mashawi 'Souls' are not to be confused with the various spirits. The former are said to live in the chest of the individual, the latter's usual habitation is external. Girls you have looked at me.
