Item

Title
Ngoma drum rhythms
Description / content note
The first rhythm was based upon the words of a lullaby "Mwana hai yo hee." "Keep silent my child". The second had no word base. The drums were all played by women standing in a circle with their drums held between their knees. They played with great vitality. The drums varied from about 12" across to small ones of about 3" only. Each type of drum maintained its own rhythm which can be heard i the recording. Ngoma drum rhythms.
