Description / content note
Herd boys are one of Africa's sources of original songs. The life of thee youngsters is full of the intimate knowledge of creatures and their ways. The discomforts of nature and the constant search for food or sweet things. A herd boy's education is second to none at that tender age and the pleasures are never forgotten. They use a well known proverb concerning their food, referring to their work for other people's cattle. "The one who cooks does not eat the food." "Huwa, somebody's child is your child, so do not be jealous of him." Herd boy song.
