Single cluster of Albuca tortuosa bulbs Single cluster of Albuca tortuosa bulbs (at least 20), one of many such clusters all over this stretch of veld. Not now in flower, but they make a fine sight of yellow when all are in full bloom over the veld. Note the single plant of Cotyledon orbiculata flowering immediately behind the Albuca clump.

Small open grassy patch between University Road, Admiralty Way & Cape Recife School, Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth Good cluster of Gladiolus floribundus with many others out of the picture. Had been a good flowering year at this spot after good winter season, better than seen in last seven years. Note tall building at UPE in background & Technichon Building in centre background. This small sector almost certain to be destroyed in near future.

Sneezewood Caption "This waterwheel made from sneezewood, which could be one of the oldest in South Africa, has been rebuilt in Pietermaritzburg. It was installed by the Voortrekker leader, Andries Pretorius, at his farmnear Weenen and in 1938 was placed in the garden of the Weenen Museum. It was brought to Pietermarizburg for rebuilding and restoration. As sneezewood is rare in South Africa, trees were specially cut and cured in Transkei to restore the wheel. The Natal Witness. S.A.
